Mr. C ~ Senior portraits

October 18, 2009

Last weekend Mr. C withstood some chilly temperatures in the name of senior pictures. I was freezing just looking at him, but he didn’t complain at all. With the help of his girlfriend and grandma, he even cracked some great grins for me! Thanks for a great time!

One of the dangers of on-location shooting is that I am vulnerable to Mother Nature’s whims. This summer, I’ve only had to reschedule 2 shoots, and they were both Miss K’s! Luckily, third time is the charm. Thursday was an absolutely beautiful night. We met at Plummer House in Rochester (where they were so many photographers we had to queue up!) I absolutely loved her outfit, and it photographed so well with the stones.

I’ve mentioned before that senior shoots are my favorites, and one of the reasons is all the personality and special touches. Miss K wanted to include her stuffed animal collection, and this bear with special meaning.

Next, we headed to Oxbow Park for magical light (and another super cute dress!)

Unless I get any last minute requests, Miss K was my last senior for the year. Thanks for a great last session!

Another of my Wisconsin photo shoots was this guy, who happens to be my husband’s “little” cousin. I guess he isn’t so little anymore… C was my first male senior, and though he wasn’t very excited, I was! C is an athlete, so we made sure to incorporate that into his session.

Monday night I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Miss R, who will be graduating from Century this year. I had a hard time NOT smiling around her. Can you blame me?

From my short time with her, I think that picture pretty well captures her spirit :-)
We wandered around downtown Rochester for a short time, before heading to Silver Lake Park. These were both places I haven’t shot before, so it was pretty exciting for me. I’ll be back to both.
Here’s a few more:

Thanks for a great night!

C really wanted some senior pictures at Mayowood, and we were lucky to find that Sunday the grounds were open to the public. I haven’t been there in years, but as soon as I pulled into the drive, I started smiling. I don’t think I stopped all afternoon :-) Mayowood is a photographer’s dream, but as C is a photographer herself, I never doubted she’d make a great choice!
Here’s a few from the day:

Despite the humidity, the walking, and the bright sun, Miss C just kept on trooping for me, first at her house, and later as I dragged her all over Kasson. I was thrilled when I saw some of the results, and I hope that she thinks it was all worth it too. I had a very difficult time limiting my sneak peeks!

The trip to Kasson was a last minute decision, and many people would have looked at me like I had 3 heads, but not C. We found some great spots.

The best part? C and I have one more location planned on Sunday, so stay tuned!

I had a blast with Miss H this week and was reminded again why I love doing this! Seniors sessions are some of my favorites, because I feel like I really get to know them in just a few hours. Sweet, silly and talented…this girl is going places.

2009 seniors are finishing up classes, finalizing college plans and preparing to graduate…and we can’t forget prom. I was able to capture some prom memories for Eric and Kara this year. I had a great time, and I hope their prom was unforgettable.
